The Wrapped Agency has created a new wellbeing at work campaign for the staff at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.
The trust has tasked the agency to create its first ever ‘Flourish at Work’ campaign, which aims to boost employee wellbeing and patient care.
Jackie Daniel, chief executive at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, comments: “Evidence shows us that improving the health and wellbeing of healthcare staff can improve patient outcomes. We’re calling on all staff to start walking towards a healthier future. The first Flourish at Work challenge is to walk a total 50 million steps between us over the next three months. It’s the equivalent of walking around the world so we’re looking forward to positive results.”
Kate Eady, Creative Director at The Wrapped Agency, comments: “Working on a campaign of this magnitude has the potential to change the health and working lives of over 5000 people at this NHS Trust. The social element of the campaign focuses on using twitter, facebook and Instagram to tell and share personal success stories across the Trust, to help boost motivation and get staff inspired, whilst the sparky design and digital work, including a steps tracker to show how many steps the staff have walked together, aims to keep people motivated.”
The NHS recommends that to stay healthy, adults aged between 19-64, should do at least 150 minutes of exercise a week – which can include walking.
The project includes creative campaigns across print, digital and social media, with a key focus on Instagram and twitter, and will run throughout 2016.
Jackie Daniel adds: “The Flourish at Work project could become a blueprint for Trusts across the country to improve both staff health and patient experience. The work stands as an important case study, as NHS England estimates that overall sickness rates could be reduced by a third – the equivalent of adding almost 15,000 staff.”
