I started my role at Wrapped as a creative designer in late March this year. In my first two weeks I received such a warm welcome and loved getting to know the rest of the talented Wrapped team.
Although this was sadly cut short as halfway through my second week as the Covid-19 lock down meant we had to start working from home to keep each other and those around us safe.
The first few days working from home were very strange, somewhat isolating, and even surreal at times. It felt like it was just going to be a quick short term change, and that we’d be back in the office soon. Sadly that wasn’t the case.
The collaborative work style that I was used to in a creative role was suddenly confined to phone calls and Zoom meetings. Although challenging, I have been amazed how well the team have adapted to this new way of working and how supportive they have been throughout the lock down, with regular catch ups and hangouts to make sure we are all doing okay.
I have found it helpful to have a dedicated space to work from, which leads to having the least amount of distractions and thus being more productive and creative. This also gives a good work life balance, (which while being at home can be tricky to juggle).
I do miss the whole Wrapped team and the wonderful creative space we have in the office but I now know that when I am back there I will appreciate it all the more.
