Here at Wrapped, our design studio creates work that impresses clients with its beauty and ability to generate results by influencing the emotion and behaviour of its target audiences. We do this because all our design is rooted in insight, and delivered as part of wider brand and business strategies.

An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious middleweight designer or a proven senior designer to join our team. You will work closely with our senior leaders and have the opportunity to learn intensively about brand strategy and creative interpretation. You’ll fit in perfectly if you’re energetic, good at listening (to clients and colleagues) and open to learning in a continuous way. Responsibilities & duties

  • Working closely with the agency’s brand strategist, you’ll create new brands and their associated visual identities.
  • Working closely with the creative operations director, you’ll manage the workflow and workload of more junior creative team members, helping them to prioritise, evaluate their work and ask questions of clients and colleagues where required.
  • In your position, you’ll manage a junior member of the creative team, looking after their professional development and pastoral care.
  • You’ll have your own portfolio of clients, who will approach you as their lead point of contact. From here, you’ll deliver many of their creative requirements yourself while delegating other parts to the wider team, ensuring that deadlines are met.
  • Many clients approach us with a need that isn’t yet formulated into a brief. As part of the senior team, you’ll be responsible for interpreting client requirements, clarifying these into a brief and turning that brief into a job.
  • Working closely with the digital marketing team, you’ll ensure that any design work rolled out for their platforms is appropriate in format and for its intended aim.
  • You’ll be involved in the processes of dealing with third party suppliers (e.g. printers), obtaining quotations and dealing with orders; managing this for your clients where required and being able to lead on this when the creative operations director is out of office.
  • Wrapped’s own identity doesn’t stand still. An important part of this role is to continue with the creative evolution of how we look, sound and feel.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign – essential
  • Proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Microsoft PowerPoint – desirable 
  • A proven track record of managing creative clients, in an agency environment, for a number of years – essential.
  • Proven account handling skills, in an agency environment, for a number of years – essential.
  • Demonstrable team management and mentorship skills – essential.
  • Confident presentation skills – essential.
  • Excellent time management – essential.
  • Attention to detail – essential.

Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 per annum, depending on experience

Job Type: full-time

Working Arrangements: hybrid, with office work based in York.
